Ah, Love! Ah, Pedicures!

Dating has been kind of stressful. I know that I should return to my jogging routine to shake some of my nerves.

In the meantime, my pocketbook is filled with Chanel lipsticks and receipts. Also, I can't wait to wear sandals all the time. I went to Dashing Diva in Carroll Gardens yesterday and got my toenails fixed up with Essie polish in Fruit Sangria. It was very relaxing at the D.D., and I made some new friends while waiting for my toenails to dry.

Quick Update Since We Last Chatted

Exercise is coming along splendidly. That date I mentioned did not. But I suppose trial and error is one part of romance.

My favorite quote lately comes from my friend Jean: "My makeup looks really natural, but like I have it all going on."

To end, a super-cool video with both older greats and a younger great, Jennifer O'Connor:

Totally Feeling It

Not one to dictate how you should dress, but this skirt was so magnificent, I just thought I would show you a picture of it. It currently sleeps in England.

Etsy seller Irmaandcoquette is selling the skirt for next to nothing.

I'd quite like to wear this skirt whilst cooking a goat cheese omelet or watching TV. Scooting around downtown. Just about anywhere. Well, don't mind me....

Drat Exercise, Must Exercise + Mac Foundation

Operation Failure

My exercise-a-thon due for Monday did not happen. But procrastination is no longer an option.

Girls, I had a totally totally decent reason for skipping exercise. I had some important writing to get done. When the article is printed, I'll show the link here and then, you'll take a deep breathe in and out and understand. Thank you for your patience.

In the meantime, Charlotte's Spring Mini-Makover is still in full swing. I will be trotting soon to the Park Slope Food Coop, where I will buy lots of fruits and vegetables for my belly. Cue visual to the left.

Product Recommendation: MAC NC20 Foundation

While Origins mineral powder is still my go-to foundation, MAC foundation in shade NC20 is ace too. Popped into the MAC makeup shop in Grand Central Station the other day and slapped it onto my face. Of course, I just love the way it sits on your skin. But I also like how I can get it onto my face at warp speed compared to mineral makeup.

Oh yes, a homeless guy told me I was "looking fine." (Dude, if I had a boyfriend, I'd put his assessment here instead. Bear with me.)

Gotta skedaddle before sundown. Also, I might go out on a date or two this weekend. Weird, huh? What's that you say? Boys are gross? Honey, suck in your stomach and put on some color? Um, it's time for my brain to stop talking so much. Sassy thing. Wish me luck.

XOXO,
Charlotte

Matte Lipstick for Jogging?

Maybe I am a total diva anticipating my "look" before even beginning an exercise regimen. Sue me.

I think matte lipstick is the way to go, but in a very neutral tone. Historically, I have noticed that joggers in Brooklyn do not wear lipstick. That's fine if you're Jodie Foster. Clarice Starling had loads of style. But as for me, I will be wearing Revlon lipstick, light powder and some fearsome ambition.

Neutral and matte. Nothing too red. No need to be the "Lady Gaga" of Prospect Park.

Wise Lady Tip: For the same reason that I refuse to wear stilettos in the evening, I think exercising outside after dark is unwise.

Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel:
My exercise routine begins Monday. Expect an update the same day, unless I faint/die/get tangled in a tree/never come home again.

The Perfect Moisturizer: Body Time Chamomile Lavender Moisturizing Face Cream

I've owned Body Time Chamomile Lavender Moisturizing Face Cream for more than nine months, and can't find a better moisturizer.

If I was more disciplined, I would apply this moisturizer every day because it fixes almost every skin problem, including dryness, redness and breakouts.

It is more useful than Google and more faithful than any boyfriend. Don't call me crazy until you try it!

Extra Words of Wisdom: If you use a product like Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion or Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream already, give this one a roll.

Buy It: Body Time Lavender Chamomile Moisturizing Face Cream ($18), at http://www.bodytime.com or at one of their shops in the Bay Area.

Star Rating: 6 out of 6.
