Hey girlies,
I am all about self-acceptance lately. I don't have any beef with magazines, and in fact, I love them, but really, you don't need to look like an airbrushed movie star to feel great. There is no bathroom mirror that I know of that can perform Photoshop.
I hope this spring you will embrace your imperfections, especially if they're just physical. Wear less makeup, and more attitude.
Romance Update
I'm dating this guy who is a paragon of virtue and crazy smart.
Still, if you're under 18, which many of you are, and the fellows chasing you aren't so sharp, I would say take a pass on them and study hard. I swear to God. This is my only good advice for you, besides all the stuff about beauty products.
Toodles,
Charlotte
P.S. Also, if you have pretty girlfriends who go to school but don't carry books or do their homework, you should ask them if they are just trying to cryogenically freeze their brain cells or really enjoy flipping burgers? Perfect hair can only do so much for your head.

Spring Cleaning + Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother
I sometimes put on a nice dress for cleaning house. Counterintuitive, perhaps. But why should anyone clean dressed in rags? I am going to pop over to the laundromat, and then suds up the ol' apartment.
Before I do, a recommendation:
I started using this product about a week ago and it's solid. Speaking openly, I am not a "hair" person. It would be much easier if hair didn't exist, and in the meantime, mine is growing to the floor like a lhasa apso. If you put Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother in your hair when it is still damp, it beats the frizzies. (Frizzies was a word, in 1979.)
Also, the Red Clay Ramblers released an album called "Chuckin' the Frizz" the same year:

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday.
Mistress of my domain,
Charlotte
P.S. If you have other tips for beating the humidity, chime in!

Ah, Love! Ah, Pedicures!
Dating has been kind of stressful. I know that I should return to my jogging routine to shake some of my nerves.
In the meantime, my pocketbook is filled with Chanel lipsticks and receipts. Also, I can't wait to wear sandals all the time. I went to Dashing Diva in Carroll Gardens yesterday and got my toenails fixed up with Essie polish in Fruit Sangria. It was very relaxing at the D.D., and I made some new friends while waiting for my toenails to dry.

Quick Update Since We Last Chatted
Exercise is coming along splendidly. That date I mentioned did not. But I suppose trial and error is one part of romance.
My favorite quote lately comes from my friend Jean: "My makeup looks really natural, but like I have it all going on."
To end, a super-cool video with both older greats and a younger great, Jennifer O'Connor:
